Choir Tour : PART UNO

We went to San Francisco for Choir Tour this year and it was A-MAZING!! We left on Wednesday night, April 14th, and DROVE all night… It was awful, but we didn’t leave until 11 PM, three hours after our designated departure time. Apparently one of the buses had to get a piece replaced last minute (just my luck…) and so we just hung out for a long time. Me and Sydnee and a bunch of other LDS girls sat at the piano in the choir room and started singing hymns and primary songs, which was fun. Although I kinda felt like a dork… Ha ha. :D I forgot to say goodbye to Dawn before I left, so she was kinda mad at me that day and Dad brought me a blanket for the road trip. I sat with SYDNEE BAZZLE (whom I adore :D) on the way there and I tried to sleep, but it wasn’t too easy… I think this year’s buses were even MORE uncomfortable than last year’s!! (if that’s possible….) We watched The Proposal right when we left, so I tried to watch some of it but I fell asleep, for at least part of it. I woke up right at the end of the movie. Then they didn’t play any more movies because it was late, so I listened to my iPod for the rest of the time. We had to stop in the middle of the night to get gas and we all went into this gas station, all of us probably half asleep… We finally got back on the road and crossed the border of California at about 3 AM, and crossed the famous bridge at about 8. As we were riding to downtown San Francisco, I saw Alcatraz which was cool to see in person. Grandma and Grandpa have this map on their wall of San Francisco and Alcatraz together so it was cool to put the map with the actual thing. We went to Pier 39 to shop and stuff and I got some sourdough bread for Mom. Except when I actually got it home, it was as hard as a rock. A HARD ROCK. I also got a pretty LEGIT blue sweatshirt and a black t-shirt with San Fran on them. FUN FACT: The Golden Gate bridge was finished in 1937. (I had to find it out because my sweatshirt said “Est. 1937” and San Francisco was around WAY before then.) I saw the bridge but I didn’t get a good picture of it, which was kind of disappointing. :( We went to our hotel and got our stuff in our rooms and stuff and had to get all dressed up for Wicked :). That night we went to this salad buffet place for dinner (which I don’t remember the name of…) and I had A LOT of food. I was pretty darn full when we left that place. Ha ha. After dinner, we went to WICKED!!! (aka the BEST part of choir tour :D) Before we even got off the buses, people started talking about how AMAZING it was. And I believe the term “wickified” was used a few times. Plus, there was this legit hobo in the park next to the theatre fishing for kids. NO JOKE. Then he totally started to follow this teen couple around. Creeper. We went inside the theatre and I bought a t-shirt because I pretty much knew I would love it. :) My t-shirt was black with green words on it, and the Golden Gate bridge on it and “NO PLACE LIKE HOME.” We went into the theatre and sat down but the play didn’t start until like half an hour later… But when it did, it was A-MA-ZING!! Within the first couple minutes, I thought I was seeing a special effects movie. It was about the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba, and her relationship with the Good Witch of the North, Glinda (or Gah-linda, according to her), and how they became friends in school. It was a really cool story line and I really liked it. Then we went to our hotel at like MIDNIGHT and I pretty much passed out. Ha ha. Oh and P.S.: My other roommate was Holly Sheffield. She is SO incredibly talented. She’s in A Cappella with me; Soprano 1.
